I'm on contract with Superdrug as their only web designer / developer. I produce graphics and markup for many areas of the website, including the homepage, product listings and microsites. I design email newsletters and landing pages. I organise my own work.
This demanding role meets my preferences for a variety of design & build work, allowing me to blend my graphic design skills with my advanced XHTML & CSS knowledge in a lively & fun environment.
My biggest challenges are being realistic about what's achievable with limited resources, crafting business cases to communicate with businesspeople and managing agencies.

Self-taught, hand-coding, technically-minded creative: I'm passionate about web design and related technologies. I love helping people to make the most of the internet, especially raising awareness of accessibility. I love learning new skills & I spend much of my spare time improving my design skills, as well as managing my sites & increasing my knowledge.
I worked for Net-A-Porter on a number of high profile projects. When I started I was responsible for updating the homepage and magazine section each week.
I went on to build the HTML & CSS for TheOutnet with one other web developer and very aggressive deadlines.
I was responsible for checking that pages generated by JSP code were cross-browser compatible & standards-compliant. I advised on accessibility, critiqued designs for the magazine and spread enthusiastic good vibes.
In May 2009, I decided it was time to make gains towards becoming a freelance web designer - something I had dreamed about for ages. I left Net-A-Porter and became self-employed.
I worked at Catch, which was truly awesome. I learnt a lot amongst a tightly-knit team of fabulous people. I got stuck into a number of projects, such as Baby TV & Greatest Fan.
